Confidential help and information for anyone affected by prostate cancer.  Helpline staff are specially trained and experienced in listening to people affected by prostate cancer.  Available 10 am to 2 pm Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.  Answering service available at all other times.  Prostate Cancer Support also host local support groups in areas across Greater Manchester and Cheshire.  For information about these groups, please email above or telephone the helpline.

Cheadle Support Group

Cheshire Meetings second Monday each month at 1 pm.  Lunch may be taken in the tavern prior to meetings.

Crewe Support Group

This very active group meets bi-monthly on Saturdays at 10 am in the Postgraduate Centre, Leighton Hospital.

Droylsden Support Group

Meetings first Thursday each month at 6 pm. The group provides emotional and moral support to sufferers from people who know what they are going through, as well as offering contact sources for practical assistance.

Oldham Support Group

Meetings last Tuesday each month at 6 pm.   Representatives from PCS and nurses from Oldham Royal Hospital attend each meeting, attracting many new patients with lots of opportunity to talk to other prostate cancer patients.

This group holds three meetings per year, at Hope Hospital, Salford and the Christie Hospital, Manchester. All meetings are attended by representatives from appliance manufacturers as well as either a medical or non-medical guest speaker. The group also has a "problem corner" so that members can submit a question relating to urological topics to be answered by the committee or another qualified person. This group is a branch of the national Urostomy Association.
