Remember that everyone is different. Some people experience more side effects than others do.
If you get some of these side effects, they will normally start during the second half of your course of treatment. They tend to last for a few weeks after treatment has finished, and then slowly settle down over the next three or four months.
If you are having a short, one-week course of radiotherapy before surgery, you shouldn't get these side effects - but there is a very small risk that you will get some of the longer term effects we have listed elsewhere.
